Alvarado said she heard banging and, along with three other family members on the upper floor, hid in the bathroom without knowing who was at the door.
Ángel, Sofía’s brother, said agents brought his sister, mother, daughter, and niece into the kitchen and forced them to hand over their phones.
Ángel said everyone was terrified, crying, and that agents pointed their weapons to keep them from moving.
All four relatives are U.S. citizens and were eventually able to show their identification to the agents.
Sofía explained that everything began when the couple renting the lower level returned home after buying food.
According to her account, ICE agents followed them into the residence.
The detentions and the impact on the family
Footage from the camera shows agents detaining the man while the woman fled.
The family said she ran into the house and hid with her 7-year-old son.
By Sunday, a large hole in the bedroom door was still visible.
Sofía and other relatives said agents detained the boy’s parents and that the father has a work permit.
They also noted that ICE detained another man downstairs and a fourth man, a father of two children with a third on the way.
What comes next?
The family continues assessing the damage to the home while trying to understand the reasons behind the operation.
They say the emotional impact remains strong for both minors and adults who were inside the house.
No further details have been provided regarding the status or whereabouts of the detainees.
